Attended an Auction over at Dansville, NY today.

Farmall 1256 tires fair with duals 9,000 dollars
IH 966 no fenders tires worn 7,500 dollars
IH 5288 MFWD w/ duals tires good 12,750 dollars
IH 5288 MFWD singles tires wore 13,000 dollars
IH 826 w/ aftermarket cab tires good 6,400 dollars
IH 656 gas WFE good paint 3pt had somebody talking to me but I think it went over 4,500 dollars
IH 656 gas hydro utility again somebody talking but I think around 3,000 dollars.
Two IH loaders for larger row crop including a 2350 approximately 1,000 dollars a piece.
IH tillage equipment and drill brought good money I thought. Cold blustery day.

I watched a tractor sell today that blew me away. Along with the auctioneer and everybody else in the crowd except the two guys who wanted it and ran it up so high. An Allis Chalmers G,barn fresh with a cultivator and plow,it brought $5500.

I wonder if it was a family tractor and the two bidders were in a family dispute nobody in the crowd was aware of. Family disputes usually drive crazy bids.

The sale was away from my home turf so I don't know the history to know if they were really good deals or not. I suspect most of them came new from local dealers when new and a couple had area dealer decals on them. There was an IH dealer a couple miles down the road in the village from the farm from the pre-merger days. I could live with a 5288 MFWD if it checked out.

I know a fellow in NH that has 5.

I don't know. At one point they had $7000,but one of the bidders said Wait a minute! I thought you meant hundred! So they had to start over,it still went back up to $5500.
