Can someone please tell me how to change gears?

New User
Just recently bought this at an auction.

It is apparently the "Industrial version of a 544".

IH 2544 has working TA and supposedly 5 gears but how do I shift it?
The left lever is works the TA
The right lever seems to only have three positions
forward, neutral, and reverse

So, how do I change the gears?

Thanks for any help. :)
 
Are you sure you don't have a Hydro? Does the right lever just say F-N-R? Try moving the lever slowly from N to the F, does the tractor slowly move faster and faster, if so I think you have a Hydro.

OK,on a Hydro,the leftlever is direction and speed.Often called the SR(speed ratio) lever.The lever on the right is Range(low neutral high).There is no 'TA' on a hydro tractor.If it were a 'gear drive',the right lever would have the standard IH 5 speed. The left would be the TA.There is no 'shifting' on a Hydro,simply move the left lever forewand or backward.'Clutching' is not required on a hydro.I usually never use the 'clutch'pedal on my hydros.You NEED to order a book.ASAP!Get one from the folks right here at YT!
