Celebrity tomatoes???

Just finished planting most of my garden... 10- 50 foot rows of sweet corn (Ambrosia), 10- 50 foot rows of green beans (white half Runner), 96 Celebrity tomato plants, 48 green bell pepper plants (California Wonder), 48 Red bell pepper plants (forgot the name), and 48 Sweet banana pepper plants.

My question is....I have never grown Celebrity tomatoes. I always grew Rutgers for canning. The greenhouse was out of Rutgers but they said that Celebrity was a good canning tomato also.

What is your experience growing and canning the Celebrity tomato?

man, what a garden, and i thought mine was large. we plant celebrity tomatoes each year for eating, not canning. performs well. celebrities are determinate which means they produce a lot in a short time frame which makes them a desirable variety for canning.

i like em cause they taste good and are the perfect size, to me the big un's don't have any flavor and the small un's, well, there just too durn small. :)

I am a better boy man but none can be found,,, Celerity is a close match but none to be found... I planted a mix match waiting on some better boys in a week are two.... I have caned/juiced both with no issues... Yum Yum...

I've planted them a few times and liked them. They produced good. We used them for slicers and canned some too.

I like Determinate plants... they don't keep growing and sprawling all over the place.

Also like the smaller tomatoes because the really big ones seem to get tough/fibrous areas inside them.
