3020 powershift

1964 3020 Diesel wide front with powershift. Sometimes when shifting from reverse to forward it won't go into gear and you have to go back to neutral or move shifter back and forth to get it to engage in a forward gear. Transmission was redone a year ago. Is this a linkage problem or a clutch valve problem or something else entirely? Once in gear it shifts fine and doesn't slip. Powershift works great except for this, I hope, minor issue.

If you push the lever sideways a bit, in the gear you want, does it go into gear? Mine"s been that way for years...IIRC going fwd to reverse, sometimes.

We had a 4020 powershift and it was always like that just had to slap the shifter to the side.

Look for wear/looseness in GS lever(parts key #23) &/or link(parts key #21)

Take shifter a part. It will be obvious what is worn. Weld it up and grind it smooth. This is what I did.
