Ya I built the wife a water feature on the side/back of our house, next to house.. 4 water falls and pond.. once a week I throw the hose in and add water to it usually when I go out to do chores usually see it when come back to shut off. Put it in this morning and came home to seeing the hose still hung over... OH CR P.. back yard standing water.. ran down the back down the water way in the field.. Well plum forgot about that part and had the 72 chevy in the hay shed out back and needed it around front in the big shed.. took out and drove RIGHT THROUGH ALL THAT WATER, MUD, ETC.. didnt even dawn on me until i felt the truck kinda hydroplane and slow up some.. what a mess..couldnt help but laugh at my self.. course when it drys out I have some grading to do..and grass to replant..lol

I had 2 ponds, 3 waterfalls and a stream. Birds and wind would require I let the hose drip all the time to keep water level.

I've seen one person use a toilet float valve to maintain his pond water level.

You'll have to get a water timer. That's what I water the garden with, just have to remember to turn it on.

Just add a couple of gold fish. They will fixer up. Timer works great. They run for one hour per full twist. They are like five or six bucks max.

BTI disks or granules work well to kill mosquitoes at the larva stage.

I put 18 goldfish in my little pond about 5 years ago. They were 27 cents each, now there's 23 of them, some have died, and they'reabout 5-7 inches long. Kinda fun actually.

Easy to remedy, install a permanent water line with a float valve (like you have in a swamp cooler) and the pond will maintain it's own water level.

Had 8 or 10 in our pond. Wondered one summer when they got to be about 8"s what happened to all but one. Was standing looking out the kitchen window just in time to see a seagull (skyrat) land and grab the last one.
