nw alabama garden going good, plants up with good
stands and green beans at about 10 in. tall and
growing with very little weed problems. last night
about 1/2 inch of gentle rain, this morning i found
deer had been in the bans.

You will find that deer, rabbits, coons, possums, birds, caterpillars, cut worms, beetles, etc, like fresh garden veggies as much as you do.

yeah - never had a problem with rabbits before.

This morning I went out to check on my peas - the only thing I've got in so far.

no more peas.

two whole rows were coming up good.

They're completely gone. Nothing left but a couple of weeds poking through.

Not happy.

I had raised an acre of cantaloupe a few years back and the rear of the field close to the woods in the back was ruined, I immediately thought deer, but after further investigation I saw doglike tracks and blamed my dogs, but got up for work one mourning and caught 3 coyotes out there in the act.

Knowing a deer's preferences, I would take a SWAG and say he meant to say BEANS. Even I fail to see a misspelled word now and then, perfect as I am. LOL.

beans-old man eyes, old man fingers and old man
ways. anyone have any thoughts on using an electric
bug zapper hung in the garden. summer nights,
plenty of bugs and the strange noises at varying
times when the bugs are zapped. might work?

I declared all out war on the rabbits two years ago. Starting to get things under control. The darn things will decimate brussels sprouts, carrots, beans and parsnips also. They like squash plants, too.
