Now, that's funny.

Years back I did a telephone repair at a funeral home that kept going down precisely at 4:50 every single morning. Every morning. So, for about a week I showed up with test equipment to catch whatever, while another technician, George was miles down the road at another funeral home trying to capture it there as well. The owner gave us keys to let ourselves in and out. So one of the mornings I'm carrying test equipment in and have to squeeze between a gurney and the wall, and as I look down, there's clearly a body in a bag strapped down to it. Obvisously a night pickup from somewhere. I stop and look down trying to figure out which is the head, which is the feet in a dimly lit garage, but couldn't. Anyway, it took three trips back and forth to the truck to bring in stuff. I'm back in the corner, around the corner doing my thing and I heard banging around. I was the only live person in there at the time, so there shouldn't have been any banging around unless I was doing it, and I wasn't doing it. I looked around the corner and could see someone doing something at te far end along side one of the hearses, so I say "Good morning". Some guy pops his head up, looks at me but didn't see me, so he dropped his stuff and ran out the door. Turned out to be the flower guy dropping off flowers, and he had a key too. But in the dark, he heard me but didn't see me, so he dropped it and scrammed. I went back to doing my thing, and like clock work, everything crashed at 4:50, I caught it with my test equipment, so time to leave. It took three trips in, and it didn't bother me until time to leave. I made one trip out with gear tied around my head, neck, waiste, shoulders, and in my hands...and I didn't touch that gurney once on the way out, but did say "Have a good day as I passed it".

Things like that make life interesting, or we'd be bored to death. Your picture? I'm going to give it a shot. I won't credit you with it, but I'm going to give it a shot.

I've had some strange problems with my phone over the years, so, like the others, you've got me curious....what was wrong with the phones?

Too, aren't you glad that when you said 'Have a good day' that you didn't get a reply.....Bet you'd have moved as fast as the flower guy....LOL

i think it was probably sun spots, but then i blame everything from a faulty switch to a flat tire on sun spots.

This funeral home owner owned something like 7 funeral homes. The one that I was at was the main site with the main equipment that tied some of the sites together using tie lines to their remote equipment. This particular issue was that at 4:50 every morning, there was some equipment between the sites that ran tests on itself, a SLCK-96, and would go down to test for a minute or so. Most people would never even notice it, but the customer equipment for this customer wouldn't recover after going down, and had to be manually brought back on line. The customer would show up at 8AM, their phones would be dead. I work for AT&T, and it was equipment in then Verizon territory where George was testing that caused the problem, so getting it resolved took some doing and cooperation.
