540 pto to 1000

I have a 1992 Universal 643, and I wonder how and what I need to locate for parts to make it 1000 pto rpm. I may be able to borrow a neighbors 1000 pto round baler this year.

Sorry, just couldn't resist. I googled it, and it was apparently built by UTB in Romania. They were rebadged as Longs for sale in America, so if you can't find a parts manual for it as a Universal, you might find one for a Long if you can figure out what Long model it is. You'll need to do some sleuthing on the internet, I think. You might also try Import Tractor Parts, and Rick Stair.

That being said, its 64 horsepower, so its very doubtful that 1000 PTO was even offered.

just get the 6 spline to 21 adapter and go brings a round baler down to a sensible speed lot easir to power we have done it for years
