jd 350 runs on 2

have jd 350d with roosa master injector ,always runs strong but the other day clearing some brush started acting like running on2.starts fine but open throttle and runs rough, start pushing and acts like running on 2. replaced head gasket but everything looked fine.plenty of fuel coming out of injectors.opened up injectors 1 by1 and same result for all, engine starts stalling.other threads talk about injector return line but mine is not on top but behind on side of injector.i"m lost.

It's almost impossible for the injection pump to cause a problem that only affects one cylinder. There is just one central pump unit that serves all three cylinder -one at a time. About the only pump malfunction that could cause a skip in just one cylinder would be a bad lobe on the cam-ring. If that happened - one cylinder would go dead and stay dead. It would not come and go. Plugged return line can't do it either. I'd be looking for a bad injector - or a rocker arm out of whack (like the other guy already stated). You said you just had the head off. Did you readjust the rockers after it was all back together?

no 3 cylinder exhaust was little oily and thought i lost some cooling fluid so replaced head gasket but everything looked good.put new rings on no 3 injector. starts right up but sounds like on2.now i need to check compression but where to find tester for this engine can't even find it online!

there's one on this site but it looks like what harbor freight sells and don't think it'l work because the adapters have threaded ends.
