Iowa trip

I am making the trek to the 2 cylinder expo this next week. I will have an extra day after I leave the show. Any place to go, collection to see, or people to visit between Waterloo and Des Moines? I have half of Saturday and most of Sunday.

Must take in the Deere factory tours while in Waterloo. Engine Works, Tractor Works and foundry. The new Deere History Museum may be open that weekend as well. The show should know about that. I have heard it is full of new fresh displays many of which are very cool.

Swing over to Independence, 20 minutes from Waterloo, and see the old mill. It is the oldest grain Mill west of the Mississippi, and my home town.

Scheduled for both factory tours. Hopefully the museum is open. I think it would be pretty cool.

Kinzie has an innovation center that looked like it might be interesting. It's on I 80 about 20 miles west of Iowa City.
