Use for dirty diesel fuel

I was given some diesel fuel today (about 20 to 30 gallons) that without major filtering can not be used as a engine fuel.

I can save a couple of gallons and use it for parts washing (even though I like gasoline better for that job) and I have a few brush piles I can use it on to start the fire.
But I was trying to think of other uses.

One that came to mind is fence row weed killer.

What do you guys think about diesel as a grass killer?
Should I mix it with anything to stretch it or make it work better?

Any other uses you can think of I might have overlooked.

Thanks

mix 2-4-5-T Brush Killer at about 5%. Then spray around the tree so you wet it just above the ground and it runs off a little. A pump-up hand sprayer works great. I have killed 2 ft Thorn trees that way. Takes at least a year for them to die!

A guy I knew use to pour it around the foundation of his house. He said they never had a single spider or cricket in the house. Was probably a little smelly for a day or two though.

Probably doesn't apply in La., but diesel works great on the snow plow or loader bucket to keep sticky snow from sticking.

I use it to start fires and to act as a carrier for insecticide for the backrub for the cows....

Not sure what the EPA would say about it, but if you have a bad mosquito problem on your pond, a thin layer of diesel fuel on the water will keep the little blood suckers from reproducing.

Killed everything it touched! The guy sprayed lots more trhan he burned in the tractor engines. As I remember.......

As Tractor Vet says; it's great for remodeling old houses (Or any old building, for that matter).

Maybe he is old and remembering his younger days.

I can remember as a kid if you wanted to kill a bug you sprayed it with DDT.
Problem is it was killing off birds because of soft eggs. The chick never made it to hatch. Especially bad for pelicans and other costal birds as the chemical was in run off.
As a kid I hardly ever saw a pelican.
Since they have banded DDT pelicans are everywhere now.

My grandmother used diesel in a sprinkling can to edge every building. No one owned a trimmer back then. You trimmed from the fuel barrel.

The best was when my grandmother wanted a croquet court. We measured and burried telephone poles for the edging. We perfectly leveled it and then she started pouring. She had enough diesel on it that the top was almost like blacktop. Those croquet matches were like an all out war. Many battles won and lost out there.

I still use a little diesel in tough to kill spots. It doesn't sterilize the ground as long as you would think. I pour used oil down around the cement foundation of the house once a year (just drizzle at grass level) and have never had a termite issue. An old timer told me they always used kerosene. That isn't cheap anymore!

Spray your outdoor wood with it. Critters hate it and since the epa won't let you buy treated wood that's any good or creosote you have to improvise.

the first one is a 1965 ford 100 custom my grandfather bought new the black one just behind it is a 1972 c30 my first truck the red one behind it is a 1969 c30 saved out of scrap yard

Use in place of water for brush killer. Delute chemical in the fuel, and the fuel will really help get a good burn on the brush you spray. Can do the same thing for your stronger stump variation. Since it is not water, it is a little more apt to stay where you spray it instead of being washed away by the rain.
