Anyone know what this is?

This pot is inserted in a hyd hose for a FEL boom cylinder circuit. I think it's a nitrogen attenuater but I'm not for sure. When does one need to operate the cut-off handle? If it actually is a nitrogen attenuater does it take the bounce out of FEL in a rough field? What does it cost new?
Thanks for any help,Jim

If you remove it for repair make sure you turn the
valve off first. Also find the specs on how much
charge is needed when recharging with nitrogen. Yes
it'll make the loader operate smoother. Like going
across a field with a large round bale of hay on the
loader. Works like a shock absorber.

Just guessing on cost, $250 -$400. Perhaps more
depending on size. For some uses of the loader it's
better to turn the isolation valve off. Like using
pallet forks moving heavy pallets.

If you have a good hydraulic repair outfit near you
they may be able to replace just the bladder and
recharge the unit a lot cheaper than entire unit..
You may just need a recharge on what you have
depending on the age of the unit.
