Last weekend we went to Greenville, IL. for the American Farm Heritage Museum show. They did a combing oats demonstration. They used a Massey Harris # 30 tractor and a Massey Harris # 60 pull type combine

Brings back memories. My uncle had a Clipper combine but not as nice as this one, had a canvas at the cutterbar. Also had a Wisconsin engine.
 
When I was a little kid our neighbor cut dads oats. He had a Massey Clipper number I do not know, but the spout that filled the grain tank, you turned it around and fill the truck.
 
That is sure a good looking outfit....and I imagine it does a nice job too. I well remember when equipment like that was considered just "The Cat's Meow" in our neighborhood. We got a new Massey-Harris dealer in 1948 and they stayed in business until about 1956, then sold out to the local John Deere dealer who moved his dealership from downtown Jonesville out to the Massey facility.
