Glyphosphate and 2-4-D Shelf life OT

Hello all,

Forgive for going off topic but I figure this is the place I can get the best answer.

About two years ago I bought 5 gallons each of glyposphate (Generic Round Up) and 2-4-D. Do you think it"s still any good or do I need to buy new?

It is still good. Just shake it up good, or stir it before using.

I buy the stuff in 1 gallon jugs. Usually takes 2 to 3 years for me to use it all up, but the last of it always seems to be just as potent as the first. It gets stored in an unheated out building.
 
I am using some of each that is every bit of 10 years old. I am not afraid of it not working at all. My 2-4D was opened.
Use it like its fresh.
 
I'm still working on a gallon jug of Round-Up, purchased at least 30 years ago (I remember using it on a farm we moved off of in 1984). I just spot spray, and vowed long ago to throw the rest away when it quit working. Still fine, the jug is almost empty now. And it hasn't been "sealed" for years- the paper gasket in the cap disintegrated long ago. And its been frozen innumerable times. It takes a licking, and keeps on ticking. I would say the shelf life is "forever".
 
mine is 8yrs old and works just fine if not mixed with water. the shelf life is short after mixed with water!
 
How about if it gets frozen? Every couple of years I forget and leave one in the barn when winter gets here. I mix it a little strong after that, and it still seems to work, but do I even need to mix it strong?

Shake up 2-4D real good if it's frozen. Should be good to go after that. I don't think glyphosate separates when frozen but maybe someone who knows more about it will chime in.
