Just curious what guns you guys have around the farm for raccoons, skunks, squirrels etc or for hunting whichever.

I have a
.410
Three .22 lr
30-06
And a 20 gauge. Hope to buy a 10 gauge double barrel sometime

.22 Ruger pistol auto
.22 Ruger bolt
.22 Nylon 66
.22 Mag Marlin bolte
.357 Mag
.357 Maximum single shot
20 gauge Ruger
12 gauge Ruger
12 gauge Remington 870
28 gauge Remington 870
12 gauge Stevens double barrel
Ruger .257 Roberts

I use my .22 Mag, Steven 12, and nylon 66 most often, along with my .22 pistol. I use the .357 Max for deer hunting.

2/single shot 12 ga. 1 /12 ga. pump Stoeger nickle double barrel coach gun, 4.10 single shot, 4 22s , 2 Henry hmr 17s 1 brass 1 blued , 1 44 magnum brass Henry The Henry rifles are lever action. 3 ex military guns with bayonets . The best gun for skunks and coon is the Stoeger and its fun also.

double barrel 12 guage side by side, and a couple of 22's. Have been known to borrow larger rifles when deer hunting. Ussually 30 30's for that.

Sorry will not list all I have but I will say have weapons in every room of the house and have one or more rifles that will hit what I want at 400 plus yards. I collect firearms and reload my own ammo. Where I am sitting right now I can grab 2 pistols with out getting out of my chair and have 3 or 4 more with in 15 feet of me

For farm work (copperheads or euthanizing severly injured livestock) I use a .22 revolver. Also have-in no particular order- H&R shotguns in 10, 12 and 20 gauge, a H&R 12 gauge slug gun, a Remington rifle in .270 Winchester, Marlin .22 and a Savage model 24 in .22 LR over .410 shotgun.

I carry a 380 or 9 mm on me at all times. On problem animals around the farm I do have a 410 snake charmer with custom stock with a elastic nylon shell holder with 1 no.6, 1 no.5,1 no4, 1-000 buck and 1 deer slug.

stepson left his Savage .17 caliber Mach 2 here. Different from the other .17 cal. like HMR, etc. Haven't shot it yet. Tiny but expensive ammo. Should be interesting. Don't know why that cal. was created vs. other .17's. The gun has a bull barrel but no front sight or place to put one. No rear sight either but comes with Weaver mounts.

A M1 in 30:06, a M 37 Ithicia 12 ga, a Savage bolt rifle in 223 and a Ruger 10/22 . Pretty much covers my needs. As I am prone to breakins in that part of ND the rest of the guns are in town.

Plenty of guns, but the one they gets used around the house is my Thompson-Center Contender rifle with a custom .17 Remington Fireball barrel. The main problem here is woodchucks, and the other rifles are far too loud with nearby neighbors.

Guns?

Those things are dangerous. Just sitting in the safe, they'll load themselves, go off spontaneously and kill innocent bystanders.

Dangerous, I tell ya.

Over 50, closer to 75, of various types, caliber, etc. Reload my own, cast my own bullets, etc. Black and smokeless powder. Lots of equipment goes with it and of course there's the research library.

always carry something, was a time you didn't have anything to worry about, when you came across someone on your property or a strange car came down the farm lane.....those days are sadly over.

GEEEEEEEEEEEEE don't ya know the IRS and anti gun nuts are gonna be after yall now lol

John T (NOT tellin what I have or don't have, keep the crooks guessing)

Darn right fawteen!Constitution be d....d.Private citizens should not be allowed guns-they're just too dangerous.
A few months ago I heard/read of some anti gun group wanting to spend sixty million dollars to study gun violence. That money would be better spent studying people violence.

Lots of guns, but if I had to give them all up and only keep one, it'd probably be the Ruger mini 14 - .223

I think of it as the jeep of the gun world.

Not the best in any one area, but pretty good at everything.

Caliber's not too big, not too small.

The gun's fairly short and easy to maneuver.

Accurate enough.

Ammo's not so expensive you that you have to mentally balance your bank account every time you pull the trigger.

And best of all, with the large capacity magazine you always feel you can fend of Black Bart and his cohorts like the kid in "a christmas story".

If the **** ever hit the fan, watching old go to town would make for one heck of an action sequence, I'd think...

Why, none at all officer! I depend on the good will of my fellow man and the forebearance of reptiles! (And I have a heck of a lot more confidence in the reptiles than my fellow man.)

I have one short stick with a blunt rock tied on the end and one longer stick with a sharp rock tied on the end. Guns are dangerous you could shoot your eye out with one.

For knock around use on the farm, some variety of .22 pistol, or a .38/.357 loaded w/ .38 wadcutters, though the wadcutters get kind of wobbly past 50 yards. They will handle about 90% of it though.

Currently I have my light weapons entrenched just in front of the crest of the ridge with a machine gun guarding each flank. I am also maintaining contact with some heavy mortars and a battery of artillery. Hopefully I can hold out until some of my neighbors arrive.

You guys are lucky to have your guns. Most people I see on the internut have lost all their guns in terrible boating accidents.

.22 and 12 gauge. Guns to me are tools, nothing more. They get treated and respected like my other tools except they are kept in the house.

.30-06 Savage bolt
.22-250 Mossberg bolt
.22 Ruger SA rifle
.17HMR Savage bolt
12ga Winchester pump
.50 ? muzzleloader
20ga H&R break action

Guns are too slow and cumbersome. Much easier to call in an air strike or drone strike. As a bonus, napalm helps with mesquite control.

Don't ask..........don't tell!
If someone wants something of mine, they had better come in the daylight, or have theirs loaded, because mine are!

That is exactly what happened to mine! Was a sad day when all those evil things ended up at the bottom of an unnamed river.

Ya know, it's kinda funny. I carried a gun on and off duty for over 20 years. Pretty much always had something close by. Truth is, I can't remember the last time I shot one! Not that I'm getting rid of any mind you, but between the NY State SAFE (or not so safe!) Act, cost of 22's, the trouble of getting them out and putting them away...I just don't have the time or energy anymore. I think I shot a couple porkies last winter with cast in a 308 surplus bolt gun and I sighted in a 22 this spring. Out down a cow with a 44 Special last summer and a Amish neighbors horse with the same 308 the winter before.

Dang, I'm getting OLD!!!

I can say Yep to having Guns. I say no to saying what I have. Way to many ways to hang yourself these days. I like to be Quiet and enjoy.

I only have one gun. A 12 ga. Double barrel. I have a nice assortment of shells. It'll kill bout anything that needs killin.
