buying 600 ford

A friend has a 600 ford, don't know s/n, for sale.
Hasn't ran in many years. I understand there is a
problem in tranny along with water in it. I need a
tractor to work on. what would be good amount to
offer him.

As described.. no more than $500. With more info, maybe more.

If it runs.. or more info on tranny problem, are tires in great shape, etc... but as described.. salvage or junk price is its value minus the hauling cost.

Scrap iron price....About 10 years ago,I sold at aucton a well beat 801.Didnt run,4 beyond bald tires,What little tin that was still there was beat to crap....It brought 1300.About twice what I had predicted.

doesn't run, don't know model? and has a documented problem or two?

scrap price minus the haul cost. unless you see known good parts you can use or sell.. like tin or tires.

if it is an sos trans that is bad.. then you basically have an engine that don't run and tin and wheels. and a rear end that really can only go to another sos machine.

thanks guys, that is what I was thinking. It has a manual tranny and I can do any hauling. Will be in the area where it is next week so may go look at it.
