Helping Dad

My daughter Cora turned a year old yesterday. Here she is helping me put together the little red wagon that my mom got her. Quite the worker! Mrs. In-too-deep would hand her a part and she'd hand it to me for assembly. Had to take a few (many) rides around the house once it was ready.

OK, she is pushing the bolts through while you tighten the one below. That is an excellent skill to have if she works on a grain bin crew. Also looks like she kicked her boots off in the kitchen before walking on the hardwood. Also a good habit to get into. The one suggestion I have would be to have her hold the bolts with a wrench instead of her fingers. But if you did not get her a wrench, whose fault is it really? What a little sweetheart.

There will be a lot of memories with that wagon. I remember when my son was little and we'd go camping. I put him in the wagon, tied to our Lab, Molly, and she would pull him up to the hand pump for water. Once we got the 5-gallon bucket filled, Molly pulled the wagon and bucket and Aaron rode on my neck. Enjoy them; they grow so fast. Aaron just turned 26.

Y'know, I should've given her the wrench. Start em early! She already knows how to talk to the cows, might as well learn to do some mechanicking!

Thanks for posting the great picture. It doesn't seem that long ago that our daughter was that age and just this past Tuesday she became a teenager. They grow up fast.

I have a picture of my 38 year old daughter when she was not much older than that, trying to put together an old alarm clock that I had opened up because it quit working.

Enjoy her now, I put a few miles on the wagon with my daughter riding, didn't have to put the wagon together though as it is her mothers wagon, a yellow True Valve. We layed a chair cushion in ours and she fell asleep in the wagon and sleep quite awhile. She's 12 almost thirteen and doesn't have much time for me anymore. chris
