I have a David Brown 1200 A Slectamatic that I am in the process of replacing the clutch. When the clutch blew up, it also destroyed the muff coupling and input shaft. I have a new clutch for the tractor, but we can't find the other two parts anywhere. MC Drake in Arcade NY is doing the work, and he used to be a David Brown dealer, and needless to say, he can't find the parts either. Can someone please help me? This is the first major issue that I have had with the tractor in the 18 yrs. that I have owned it, and it has been an awsome tractor, and I would hate to think that I have to scrap the tractor because I can't find these 2 parts. Part # for the input shaft is K917727. Muff coupling part # is K919641 Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

You might try calling Yesterdays Tractors. Sparex is a European company that makes replacement parts for those and YT is a Sparex dealer. I found an old post that said the parts they list here for those is just a representative sample and that they can get anything Sparex makes. That's where I'd start.

I have a couple parts 1200s here. I will see what I have.

99% sure I have the muff coupling(sounds dirty, doesn't it?).... I will have to check the serial number on my machine, it may be too early to have that input gear/shaft...

Very narrow range of serial numbers use that gear, under 3000 worldwide, maybe 10-20% are here... The muff coupling fits like 7000...

my cell # is 716-912-6305. when you get a chance to check if you have the parts, could you give me a call and let me know? thank you

I am thinking you are in the U.S. How popular were those tractors there? I know there were quite a few up here (Canada). Did you search any wreckers here?

If you haven't tried already I would call Fawcett Tractor. They may have some Brown parts...

(quoted from post at 20:45:41 10/09/14) The muff coupling is used in the 12 speed serial number range 700144-708741.

The shaft/gear number is 705ish to 708741... And only 70 percent or so of the early ones were 12 speeds.

If you can't come up with one here, there is always Canada and the UK to search. Many boneyards have scrapped the carcasses over the last few years since iron is so high, and not a huge demand for parts out of the gear case.

Try your Case/IH dealer. Case bought David brown and they may still have parts sources. I have a DB 1200 and I buy my parts at Case.

I'll pull the lid off the gear box and check it out at my first opportunity. Likely Monday when it rains. Trying to get some corn off.

I didn't really expect this many responces this quick but surely am glad to see so many people willing to help, and my thanks to all for trying to help. I have not found the needed parts as of yet, but I am sure that with the folks on here and the good lords help, it wont be long before this matter is resolved. thanks again to everyone for trying to help. have a great day, and may God bless you all

I had a chance to get into mine today. Both parts are near failure(splines hammered out).

Other option for you might be to swap in a complete 1210 transmission. Having Synchronized shifts are a nice upgrade. I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't drop right into your frame.
