A lot depends on condition. I have 5 of them and prices I paid.
175D with cab, excellent condition $6500
175D good condition $4500
175D hi-clearance, ratty 500 series loader, 1st and 3rd gear out $3500
175D New engine, GB hydraulic loader, needed brakes $6500
175D Good 500 Series loader, poor rear tires, good condition $6000

I also have a 170D that is in great condition $3500

Check that it doesn't jump out of gear and how the brakes work.... brakes are a pain to fix.

Here is what's on Tractorhouse. The are not many samples to give a good number in my view but it is something.

My experience is , it is closer to a $3,500 dollar tractor than it is a $6500 dollar tractor. But condition of tires and appearance can make some difference. They have a perkins engine if diesel and really not a bad tractor.

wached a lot bring in 3500 range here in wv but thay was rough tires bad and so on if it dont fly outa gear clutch is good AAND PTO starts andn stops it may be a bargon at 6 grand good used tractors are hard to find

Well I think I did good on all of my buys...try to find a new 65hp tractor for that money. These tractors are still modern tractors, 3pt, low pressure hydraulics, Perkins economy...mine are all working tractors and paid for themselves in under 100 hours use...try that with a newer tractor!
My first...14 years ago

My last, two weeks ago....

Probably depends a lot on the local market, if there are a lot of cattle and haying in your area there is probably a fair demand for older utility sized tractors, todays row crop farmers don't hardly fool with that size tractor anymore, they buy older tractors to pull grain buggies and similar jobs but the 175 is too light for the large grain buggies in use most everywhere today. Assuming no loader, just the tractor, and it is running good with above average tires, good tin thats all there and good looking oil and antifreeze to indicate it has been taken reasonably good care of I would not pay over $4500.00 and I don't think it would bring that at the average auction, not in my area at least. If it has any of the following, mis-matched and worn out tires, obvious oil leaks, rough or missing tin, fuel and oil filters with all of the numbers faded off, straight water in the radiator or similar indications of poor up-keep the price goes down considerably. When pricing a used tractor these days a person has to give serious thought to the price of tires, in the last few years I have bought 2 tractors at auction for the tires alone.
