O.T. Minnisota Weather ?

Hi guys , my brother in law left Nothern Ont . Thursday heading back home to Phoenix Arz , He just called me tonight and said he spun out in Minnesota . Is there a snow storm there ? he sure hasn't made good time ?

Minn got 5 inches snow today 25-30 degrees made it stick to highways so it would be slippery.

According to the weather guessers on 6 o clock news-
Snow from twin cities south, about another inch coming overnite. This system covers south Mn, Ia, Wi. Then just clear & quite chilly.

With snow and ice, it behooves anyone with any kind of a Truck to have all the weight loaded he/she can get by with.
Nothing worse than an MT pickup or tractor-Trailer MT..unless it is a High HP Camaro...!!!!
I wonder how much Ice & Snow can stick to a Tractor/trailer..? Sometimes mine looked like it had Volkswagons attached to the trailer landing Gear..almost up to the rear Drivers..
Started dry right on 80,000# and they still cleared me over the Scales with all that Ice and Snow (Coast-to-Coast Team, every week)..

Snowed a foot west central Mn on Monday and is snowing again today. Roads were terrible for couple days because traffic drove on wet unplowed snow. Ground was not really cold so that makes it extra slick and packs down hard. I see on news a pickup pulling gooseneck trailer of round bales of hay piled up by Willmar today and killed the pickup driver.

We've had an odd couple days of flurries the past 2 days in my
neighborhood. The ground is barely froze because it was
warm 2 weeks ago. But the overnight temps have been near
zero.

No sun either.

This has made the air and snow very cold, and the road
surface frozen but warmer.

And so, the roads are glare ice with the light snow almost
melting but then freezing onto the road.

Very slippery.

I got caught in an ice storm just outside Minneaplolis MN last year. I scaled just under 81k in what was supposed to be a 78k gross load. I went to the back of the parking lot and knocked off a bunch but not all the ice I could. Rescaled at 79k, set my axles, and headed back to TX.

I sure watch the weather now before I go north.

Hi guys , thank you for the offers to help my troubled brother in law . I haven't heard a thing since he was towed out of the ditch in Min. He only calls when he is in trouble, so I think he is probably close to Arz . He is driving a Lincon , rear wheel drive and not custom to snow , so he needs to slow down a bit . He says that he will never come back to Canada L.O.L.
