Today was kinda the pick day of the week weatherwise and I needed some round bales hauled home. The door was frozen shut on the big White,so I hauled with that F250 gasser that I bought a few months ago. I put the darned thing in 4x4 low but it wouldn't switch back out. Great, this is gonna mean taking it to town.
Seems from reading the manual, there's a trick to it. You have to hold the brake, put it in neutral, then turn the switch. Danged electronical gadgets anyway. lol

ah, so that's how it's done... bought a 2005 f350 9 months ago, never could figure out how to get it into low...

thats why i like the floor shifter on the floor for the four wheel drive on my 2010 chevy.but i just bought a 2015 f-250 four wheel drive with a switch on the dash hope it works good.

Do you have the upfitter switches in yours for AUX power? Do you know where the wires are? They say there are 2 locations where the wires end, for power connections, but I can't find the *&%^ things!

Had the same problem with an 03 explorer. Couldnt get it into low and spent an hour or so under it messing around with the actuator and wires etc. Got the book out and read about the neutral and foot on the brake. Popped right in.

We went to Washington DC about the same time as the new cars switched over to needing the foot on the brake to shift out of Park. I spend a few minutes messing around in a rental car before I stepped on the brake and got things going. Not a good feeling, to be out of your element and encountering problems at night.

When we got ready to leave my grand daughter's college graduation last month,we were riding with my daughter and son in law. His Dad was in his new car and was supposed to follow us out of the crowded campus. We got in the line of traffic and kept looking back,he wasn't comeing. The grand daughters were riding with him. My daughter texted one of the grand daughters to see what was happening. He couldn't get the car in gear. We circled around and made our way back. He had used the remote start and was trying to shift without going through the process.

That's something for me to try the next time I get my 05 Trailblazer stuck in 4WD low range.

Chevy dealers make a lot of money replacing transfer cases when they overshift and won't shift back. Last time that happened I ran it up the road and back and it finally popped back to 4WD high. I'd been avoiding low range.....

That's what we call progress. Brings to mind how the Pollocks kept getting their left foot tangled in the steering wheel when the auto industry moved the dimmer switch from the floor boards to the steering column.

He,I still don't like that "improvement". I'm not flexible enough to get my foot that high anymore. I don't know why anybody thought that was better.

Just give me the old fashioned lever on the floor , the worst ya have to do once in awhile is add some lube to it . Now if it weren't fer the dang yuppy's we would still have loc out hubs , but they don't like getting there feet snow covered or mud on there designer booties if they need to use four wheel drive to get to the mall.

Come on now, if the cavemen would've had the same attitude about the wheel as you do about this, we'd all still be walking around barefoot and clubbing our meals to death.

The Wheel: It's different. It can't be any good!

This one does have lock outs. It was a service truck for a pipeline and electrical contractor.

On my 2004 Dakota you have to have the transmission in neutral for the transfer case to go into or shift out of the low range.

Yup, when all else fails, read the book! Lol!!!
