Need some help on a Bosch injection pump!!!

I am helping a fellow on a Ford 7.8 liter Brazilian made Diesel motor. It is leaking around the barrels. When I looked closer at the pump I am pretty sure the housing is corroded where the barrels seat. So a seal kit may not Fix the problem. I am wanting to find a remanufactured pump to just exchange.

I am not find much out by application. The tag on the pump is not very clear to read. I have got some numbers for sure and others just maybe.

The number that is stamped into the side of the pump that I am 100% sure of is: 950 18855.

Then down in the right hand corner there is: RM2 stamped that is very clear.

Then printed on the tag is P??OA720 RS.
The two ?? marked letters look like W O but they are not very clear.

None of these numbers say what they are like model, series or serial number. I am not familiar with inline Bosch pumps to know what else to look for.

So do any of you fellows know which of these numbers is what I need to look for on a different injection pump????

A fellow that is pretty good on the rest of the engine knowledge on the 7.8 told me that this is a tractor derived/designed motor. Neither of us know if this engine is used on any Ford tractors.

I know that this engine was used in the US from about 1985 to 1999. They are not a power house but a pretty rugged motor. I see them in a lot of dump trucks.

can't help with your questions, but we've got an F800 with I believe the smaller 6.6L diesel, so i could see if i can read the numbers on that for you, not sure if the two motors would use the same pump or not.

A couple of FORD parts numbers I found for the Bosch IP:

E6HN9A543CC

E6HN9A593BC

I'll some more for the Bosch numbers.

The pump # should read.. PES6P110A720RS****
There may also be a 10 digit # on the bottom of the tag stamped in VERY SMALL #'s..
Your best bet would be to go to the parts store a get a spray can of "gasket/paint remover".. spray it on, wait a few seconds and wipe it off..
You DONT WANT to scrape it!!
That pump came on SEVERAL different applications with different governor combinations and HP ratings, so getting the EXACT 1 for your application is going to require a little more work on your part..
On the BACK of the governor there is also a tag..
You need to get that # too inorder to get the right pump and gov. combo.. it should read something like>> RQV325-1200*****

The Brazilian truck engine is derived from the 401 cid (6.6L) Basildon tractor engine. IIRC, the 7.8L engine is just an expanded design with a longer stroke... The principle difference between the tractor engine and the truck engine is, as you now know... the fuel system. All 6.6L tractor engines of that vintage use CAV fuel systems. That said, the early 7.5L Genesis engines used Bosch systems that ay be very similar and the engines themselves were more or less derived from the truck engine. The 7.8L was also used in some NH combines of the day so you might find something there.
There should be a lot of old school buses around with that engine tho... or at least a 6.6L that you can steal a pump from and turn it up..
