Just got done watching on TV Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, six more weeks of winter. Today is the warmest it has been in a couple weeks, upper 30s and raining but to get near 0 tonight. I live 25 miles from Goblers Knob but have never been there on Groundhog Day.

I'll sick the dog on him.

Yep, I saw it live. Five minutes later, I went outside, and it was 56 degrees (central VA)! Of course, Ol' Phil has been wrong 15 times in the last 27 years!

6 degrees below zero plus 36 mile an hour wind plus heavy snow since 4:30 AM. Blizzard conditions. Very rare to get zero visibility heavy snow when it is below zero. If Phil lived up here and could get to an airport, he'd be on his way to Florida by now.

Coldest day of the winter so far up here, -18 below 0 or we would say -28 Celsius. When it gets that cold you can hear the trees snapping in the woodlots

If the ground hog bites the mayor's ear, like happened in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin this morning, does that mean no more new terms in office for the mayor?

So, if Phil doesn't see his shadow does that mean 42 more days until spring?

Sometimes I wonder about things we been told: Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, and yes Phil.

What else did I forget to the list?

You don't believe in the easter bunny?
You probably don't believe in the wicked wicth of the east either. chuckle chuckle

i laugh at it every year,,, of course they are going to see his shadow, with all the STUPID news media around with their camera lights on, what the heck do they expect...lol

I forgot about the yellow brick road. BTW, the Wizard of Oz was written 6 miles form my dad's old dairy farm in N Indiana. The book was written at Bass Lake In.(Tornado alley). Toto is a small community near by.
