I'm a computer DUMMY! I'm using Chrome and some how I managed to screw up my home page to where it's only a partial page off to the right. If I click on full screen I had no bookmark bar at the top or startup bar at the bottom of screen. If I click over to Firefox everything is fine but I like using Chrome better.
Thanks for any help,Jim

Do you get Direct TV channel 340? There's a show on there called Discovering Lucy Angel. It's about a mother and her two daughters trying to make it big in Nashville. Not your typical reality show. Not a lot of drama, just good music and feel good episodes.

Here's some of their stuff on Youtube.
Lucy Angel

Two things to try,
1. Restore to an earlier version using System Restore un system Tools.
2. Delete Chrome and reload via new download.

Don't know how to solve your problem, but wait to you get to windows 8!!!!!! I'm back on my OLD computer. Don't get windows 8!!!!!

It's called AXS-TV. I don't know if it's on Dish or not. I'm thinking probably not. Nothing else is.

very very slowly move your mouse to edge you want to move an mouse pointer will change shape .At that point press on mouse an try to drag page to direction you want it to go.

Thanks but I had already tried the slowly dragging mouse to the left but it still lacks about 3'' going far enough to the left. I also tried restore to no avail.

Farmall has good suggestion also. In addition
sometimes i unplug computer---remove battery an
touch all keys to get rid of electricity that
might be still in an also unplug modem for while.
Also 8.1 for me is fine but did have a
learning time .
On totally different subject my wifes Jazzy
power chair wouldnt work few days ago.It is
suppose to show codes that tell what is wrong.
Hers were all messed up an didnt make sense.I
asked Jazzy store cost to repair!!!! Forty five
dollars to diagnose.probably couple hundred if
it needed parts. Long story 2 fellows here at rv
park suggested to disconect batterys an let sit
over night. I did it an next morning connected
batteries an it works!! Needed to be rebooted
same as computer.

Welcome to the computer dummy club. I'm running
XP with Chrome, when I first click on the icon on
the desk top the page is almost off the bottom of
the screen, so I click on maximize and it pops up
to where it belongs. The bookmark bar can be
returned to it's location by clicking on the
"three horizontal bars" in the top right corner
and select "bookmarks". Seems in the past I have
hidden the task bar at the bottom and returned it
by right clicking the area at the bottom and
clicking on the appropriate command. Don't have a
clue why it won't fill the page, maybe someone
else can correct any misinformation I may have
imparted and solve your problem. Good luck.

In the top border of your internet window (the
blank-part to the left of the minimize, maximize
and X-close buttons)...

Click-AND-hold your left mouse button in that space
and it allows you to drag the window wherever you
want it.

I forgot to add that (as someone else mentioned), to resize any window - you can point at any of its 4 borders... your cursor arrow will change to a two-sided arrow. Left-click AND hold, and you can drag the window to any size.

Thanks SweetFeet!!! That works. Learned something. Now if this old brains storage is capable of remembering. An it does work on windows 8.1

You're welcome.

If there is something I need the steps for... I just type 'em up and save it in a document to refer to later.

At work, when we call in our computer tech (not an employee - but an independent business), the guy is always kind enough to go through the steps and allow me time to write them down.

cool hand and WAYNE-NE-TX,

Somewhere in YT archives... I believe that somebody posted a link to a "Windows 7 Shell" that is a free download which will make Windows 8 look/work more like Windows 7.

I am still on Windows 7 - so have not tried it. But it seems like someone posted back that installing that Win 7 shell was very helpful to them (vs. operating the Win 8 software).

I've done that a couple of times on Windows seven and maybe even XP but for the Life of me I can't remember what I did to cure it. I do remember the cure is simple as can be and I felt like an idiot after I found it. Keep clicking on things and you'll find it.

There are several. Classic Shell is the one I usually tell people to use.
