What A Good Grandma...

Was down in the field plowing some more today (started in on it at about 9)

It was 12 on the nose, and my guts were growling (raisin bran wore off...) I had a granola bar, but I figured that I should just call it a day and go home and get some lunch.

Was making my finally pass, and along comes Crazy Granny! She pulled up right next to the field, handed me a brown bag, asked if all was well, and left!

Had me two sandwiches, chips, and a Pepsi! SCORE!

Told me she knew that mom wasn't home, and that I hadn't been home (she lives before us on our drive way) and that she knew I would be hungry!

What a good granny..... :)

By the way, finished plowing the 1/2 of the field I started on Sunday (figuring about 3 acres) and then drug a disc over the whole thing 1 time... Looking AWESOME! :)

Yes, Grandma's are like that aren't they? They know more about what we want and need then we know ourselves. My last Grandma has been dead for over 40 yrs.

Yep. Appreciate while you can. I miss the meals my grandmother put on. I can make a sandwich but why is it so much better when it was made for you? My ex wife's grandmother used to hook me up very well too.

Bryce, my Grandma cooked a meal for everybody that was on the farm working.
You better be there to eat at dinner time (lunch time for you yankees) and get your biscuits buttered when she was setting all the food out.
Man, I miss those good biscuits.
She died at 91 in 1985.
Enjoy the time you have with your family.

My grandma used to do the very same thing for my brother and I. But time marches on. She is now in a nursing home, but the positive is that she really likes it there. She used to get very lonely the last year she was at home but unable to get out and about. Now she has friends and neighbors to visit with all the time.

Visit her often, they aren't around for ever. Both of my Grandmas lived on Dad's farm, when I was growing up. Both are gone now. Stan

Grandma's have knack for that kind of thing!

We farmed with our neighbors, an older couple with all grown kids and grandkids. When baling hay - the old man drove the baler tractor and his wife, on their poppin JD B, would bring us empty wagons to stack on. You could give her a 20acre field and she would drive that wagon right to the exact spot where we'd be full up and need an empty! I don't know how she did it. One look at our half-full wagon, another look at the windrows, and off she'd go to park the empty wagon just in the perfect place. We'd pull around, unhitch and hook on, then keep baling. She pulled the full ones back to the barn for the unloader crew. Never gave the wagon guys a break!
I miss them both dearly!

Well, due to the amount of fuss that subject has caused on here, I am kind of keeping it quiet!!

Her and I are going out 2 or 3 times a week, went out last night again, had a great time.

This Friday she is going North to the tractor meeting with me, then Saturday we are just going to spend the whole day together out here in the country...

Will get a picture of her one of these days! :)

You know, maybe she likes raisins. You could work something out with the Raisin Bran ;) (just had to funny)

Brian,,, Everyone can tell you what not to do...

Only you can figure out what you need to do...

So... advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

Good on the plowing and discing... Grannys are a national treasure.
