12.4-38 tires who makes nice ones?

Millers may even have 45 degree available or even the old original "Closed Tread"..

It may come down to the cast of each..

For myself (I USE mine), I would opt for 13.6x 38 and an 11" (or 12") rim, for much better floatation (and they DO look good..

I am not a supporter of putting ridiculously small tires on a tractor (even if that is what it "came with"), because they Limit the usefulness of the finished product..

I just swapped 13.6x38 (with JD "A" Rims) to my '52 JD "B" and it looks Perfect (to me)..

It picked up a little speed on the Road and still has plenty pull in the lower gears..

FWIW...Ron.

Go to M E Miller tire, in Ohio. they have some nice 45 degree tread tires that weigh more than Firestones of that size. I'm planning on ordering a pair for my 1953 Case SC. They are cheaper than I can buy anything here local, including the freight.

My late A with 14.9-38s. FIL put them on but still on the 11 inch rims. 12 inch would be better. Really a little more tire than it needs.

thanks guys, I like the look of a 23deg field and road but just a little to new looking for a 1947, I looked on miller tire and the only other option I see is a bkt tire.

We have a pair of Carlisle 13.6X38 tires on our 52 A. They are 45 Degree tread and do not have that wide gaped Chinese
looking tread. The sidewalls are stiff like a good american made tire. My A runs them with 12 PSI plowing with a mounted
plow with wheel weights. I have been impressed with them and more than satisfied with the purchase. The price was good and
the product is superior to many others. If you have some small local tire shops its likely that at least one of them is a
Carlisle Ag tire distributor. At least check em out online and price a pair before you jump at something expensive or
Chinese.

Funny you should ask! I just bought 2 - 13.6x38 tires last week here locally in WPA. for $437 ea. So tonight I go to M.E. Miller web site and darned if they don't have same brand/tire for $525. Check around and deal for good price.

Our local tires stores are always cheaper than Miller and I refuse to buy any foreign made tire.

I think a fellow out of Marengo Ohio might have a bunch left. He did advertise on Craigslist. Try the Mansfield and Columbus Ohio areas.
I think that was the size he had ?
