Hope I have this correct. Saturday there is going to be a Lunar eclipse so go look. Red moon. Total before moon set. Jefcat

This one will be visible mostly over the pacific so the farther west you are the better.
The east coast will get a better show on Sept 28 2015.

Yea they are always neat to look at. The moon slowly gets darker and then orange and then red and if you are lucky blood red. It almost disappears!. Now for the fun. If you have a spotting scope or a good pair of field glasses try this. You will need a tripod or a shaft of some kind. You want to mount the optics so they will be very steady and NOT move. Do not touch them but stand awy from them by a fraction of an inch. This allows everything to not move. Watch the moon as it slowly changes and that is neat but there is MORE. Look at the edge of the moon and you will see a star or two WINK out! That is the moon moving in it's orbit! If you have really good optics and watch with care for an instant you might see a lunar peak as the star passes behind it. Thanks for those charts! Jeffcat.

One more thought. The second chart, wow this is going to be great! ANdddddddddd. It rains!!
