I came in this evening and turned on the puker to YT and over to Decorah Eagle Cam.
I am getting bombarted with verbal adds from "Quicken Loans" on both sites. They don't interupt the visual, but very annoying. In the midst of posting this, I got two new ones. How do I get rid of them other than turning the audio off on the sound icon???

Nothing here, Loren--I'm betting you picked up some malware/spyware somewhere. Run a scan of whatever spyware package you use--if you don't have one, you should. Spybot Search & Destroy and Malwarebytes are two I've had good luck with. Both are free and either should help.

Microsoft security essentials is what I use It is also free It will work with windows 7 and windows 8 As long as you don't update your computer from window 8 to 8.1 windows 8.1 will disable the security essentials system and perhaps other security systems as well. If you have windows 8 and recently updated to 8.1 Id suggest you remove the update it may be the cause of your problem.
 
Maybe you should try adding an extension to your web browser, called adblock plus

It really works well. I never get those popup ads. They have some kind of code that identifies them as an ad, so this extension effectively wipes out all advertising.

In Firefox it's under the tools menu, then add ons.

In Chrome, it's under settings, apps and extensions.

Or just search for it in google.

I second the idea of popups. Depending on what browser you are using, look at the options/preferences/settings, whatever, very closely. Make sure you study each setting to the best of your understanding and turn off/customize it to what you want. It will likely get rid of the worst of it.
 
Just so you know, YT has no pop-up ads (never have, never will). So it does sound like malware if you are getting ads when you visit us.

Like others have said, you must have picked up a virus or some other malware. I've never had a pop up on YT.
