my 99 f350 cab chassis has the 4r100 in it yesterday it started making a loud noise when in park or neutral.. when putting it in gear from park to reverse it sounds like the gears are grinding then it get quit. tell you go to neutral that when it get real loud and idea. what came lose. it pulls good and is quit going down the road

Pull the pan and check for loose bolts on the valve body.
I have seen them back off then fluid flows out where it is not supposed to.
Can make anything from a fluttering to a high pitched noise.
Last one I came across like that made a howl in reverse you could hear half mile away yet worked and sounded normal in drive
