Bought MTA was told it had new TA but ta does not work could it not have been put in right or does anyone have any idea what is wrong?

Need more information other than doesn't work. Won't change speed when the operating lever is moved? When lever is pulled to rear does tractor stop moving and a whining noise is heard? Only has the slow range and will free wheel down grade? If the stop and whining noise when lever is back, it wasn't repaired or repaired correct. Unit has to be removed to repair. If only have low T/A, the T/A clutch is defective or the adjustment of linkage is wrong causing the release bearing to be pushing the PP fingers. Won't change to high speed and tractor will free wheel could be linkage adjustments not releasing the T/A clutch or clutch or release bearing or parts is defective.
