Leaking Hydrostat on JD275.

My JD garden tractor is leaking on floor, getting worse. I put cardboard under it. Makes a mess, but really not leaking that much.

When it cools down a little, I plan to remove the rear axle and take a look/see.

Any tips on removing the axle? It appears to be leaking out the top where the control rod is. Could be leaking other places too.

If I can't fix it, I have two places in town that should be able too.

I had the same problem on a LT155, seen it was a TUFF TORQ brand and did a search. Their website was good and showed what I needed. The disconnect lever shaft was leaking on mine, there was two orings that just get pushed in around the shaft. Dug the old ones out and put two new ones in and replaced the cooling fan shaft seal since I was there. Didn't have to split the housings just external fixes, there website also showed where to add oil. chris

Thanks Chris,
Mine has a place to add oil, like on an engine. A drain plug with a special filter behind it too.
