MH hyd valve dump valve?

Hi all, I have what I am sure is a rather silly question with a great answer, I am just wondering what that great answer might be? I recently bought a 3 point hitch all set up for my MH44. The hydraulic cylinder has what I think is a dump valve attached to. If it is a dump valve, shouldn't there be a fitting for a return line on it? It appears that where this fitting should be, a previous owner has opted to insert a plug. Why would that be?

Or is it an Aux valve and if it is, what is it's purpose?

All I have to do now is figure out how to post an image!

Thank you!

There are a lot of different combos for the MH cylinders. My 44S has a depth-o-matic control for the 3 pt; uses a quadrant style lever with presets for the depth control. It has aux. remotes, the flow to which can be controlled by a screw behind a plug on the reear end of the valve body, and additional remote hydraulics can also be added. Yours appears to have the depth controlled manually by moving the lever in the desired direction incrementally. Maybe that valve you mention simply aids the return flow to the cylinder.Sorry, can't help too much.

That value is a pressure relief valve. If you over load the three point it lets the arms lower the load. The cylinder only had one fitting used because it is being used as a single acting one in this setup. The MH 44 only was power up gravity down. Like most other three point hitches.
