buying computers from qvc, home shopping network

Probably has an Intel Celeron or an AMD Sempron processor.
Some of the desktop computers sold today are nothing more than
a laptop mother board in a desktop case with no expansion slots.
They are priced real cheap. If they give the model number I would do a
Google search for reviews.

(quoted from post at 02:14:15 09/20/15) Anybody buy computers from the tv shows? Seems like some deals are to good to be real.

Any I've ever seen while flipping through were extremely overpriced and possibly bundled with something unneeded. Like Dells I saw, cheaper and/or faster if you buy direct.

Search slickdeals.net for sales. Dell outlet has bargains, can search for that, same as new warranty, but any brand deal will be on the site.

I've picked up a couple of very nice laptops from Dell Financial on Ebay. They are factory refurbished, off lease units. Got way more power and features for way less money than what brand new would cost.

Yes, they're good too. Typically older models overall than the regular outlet, but I've seen good deals. I assemble my own desktops, but for family/neighbors, been through several from the outlet. All of them look just as new. Last one was a couple months ago, over $100 less than the same model new, looked new, had same as new one year warranty, plus it was onsite warranty, if it breaks, someone comes out to fix it. That on a $160 laptop. On the site I listed before, they have occasional % off sales, like 30% for example, they tend to jack up prices a little of course, but there are still deals.

I know they have "specials" with computers on QVC sometimes that may be a bit cheaper, I did a quick check now, picked one random one. They have a Toshiba laptop with a case and support for $659 plus $18 shipping. Direct from Toshiba, same model number, $468 (maybe plus shipping, and it says "bundle", but doesn't say what's included). Also, same model number on Tigerdirect, bundle, $450ish (looks new, product page not up fully). $484 with free shipping on Amazon. But a very good case is less than $30 if not included, support, cheaper options as well (not really needed unless you've not used computers before). Not the best example, but any time I've bothered to look up any they offer, it seems to work out better to get it elsewhere.
