Dear posters, Please identify your location when you post. It makes your posts much more interesting. Thanks. from Minneapolis, MN

The one thing I like "modern view" for is that it shows location. Anyone can go to modern view on any of my posts and find out all they need to know about me.

What the *$&& does location have to do with answering a tractor question???

That being said, I like a few hundred feet east of US Hiway 281 at the southern part of Zip Code 58324! (The locals call it "Snob Hill".)

Now that you know that will my posts hereafter be more meaningful???

Sometimes I do if I'm talking about weather conditions or comparing prices . I hate my handle name and was in a hurry when I selected it , so that's why I i.d. myself with location as well.

Larry -- ont --see I did it again L.O.L.

Once you have been on here a while, you learn who and where the comunity members live. I bet you don't walk into a dinner and say "Hi I'm Joe Smuck from timbuck two", please may I have two eggs over easy with toast, do you??
Just jokeing, you will get use to us, if you hang around here awhile.
Loren, the Acg.

Start using Modern View, many posters show where we're from in the side bar. Other than that, it's a personal choice thing and some folks just prefer to retain a bit more privacy.

R meant to tell you there was a nice 1855 o on Nashville CL.. Fellow was down to 55 hundred or so . New (rebuild engine) ect.. Good back rubber , might be something you want me to go get.

When I first came on here they DID NOT WANT YOU to give information like that or your name due to I think privacy issues. That was before any names were registered, about 17-18 years ago. I have given my full name and location on here many a time.

You need to take into consideration that not all posts on this forum are tractor related. Some examples where location of poster would be nice are:
it rained 4'' last night
there was a frost this AM
it snowed last night
temp was 94° yesterday
just to mention few.

I agree if member has filled out their profile location is visible on Modern view
Jim

I'd want some details on that rebuild. Those engines were the downfall of those tractors. If rebuilt right, they were an OK engine. If not, they were a ventilated block waiting to happen. Best thing to do with them was to put an 1850 front tub on them and go to a Perkins engine, then you had a good tractor.

That's the way I look at it Loren. Anybody who's been on here for any length of time at all knows where I live. Like you,way more than one other member here have been to my house. Anybody who thinks I'm going to waste time telling where I live every time I post is dreaming.

.....or a newbie could just review your 25,000 posts & see that you have told where you live, probably several times.

Thanks Leroy, I'll see if I can steal your identity now LOL. Wouldn't have any idea where to start...

Ross

I'm really surprised Loren instead of two eggs with toast, you of all people would have said, "Hi I'm Joe Smuck from Timbuck Two", please may "I have a stack of flap jacks and homemade maple syrup that was made up the road a way"

Agree with you, and one more point, in life you build friendships and relationships, guess I'm not going to "fast track" that for anyone. If a person does not want to "take the time" in this "texting world" of ice cold communication hehe to bad.

You have 13 posts on YT. None mention where you are from except this one!!

I changed my name to Geo-TH,In (George from Terre Haute, In). A name change is easier don't you think?

Got a guy in Ohio with same name as mine, except middle initial. He doesn't pay his taxes and student loan. Collection agencies just can't seem to get that through their head. Lets just say I live around 1K west of him.

A general location, like State, would be nice when folks talk about temp, weather, yields, etc. Otherwise it"s kind of meaningless. I can certainly understand the privacy issues.

Yep,the wife and I were in Tennessee two weeks ago and got together with a member and his wife for supper. Always does my heart good to see Lee when we're there. Wouldn't be the same if we didn't.

Ditto, but if 'they' ARE after you, paranoid is just good thinking  ('Johnny' on WKRP quote)
