It has been raining lightly since Mid-day yesterday. Then some heavier rain last night. We will gladly take any we can get. It is dry here. Most of the corn is coming out of the field at 14-15% moisture. Old body aching tonight. Getting older is more fun some days than others LOL

About the same story around here. I think it has been about a month since we have had rain. Harvest finished last weekend and the last of the corn was 13 percent. I have been plowing some but the clay spots were left till we got a bit of rain. Last night was 4 tenths at my place.

It started Thurs night here in NW Iowa. I looked at the rain gauge about 8 last night and had 1.5".

We have only had 0.03 of our normal 4.50 inches of rain for this month.
But it looks like that will all change in the next day or so as Patricia tracks across Mexico and Texas and into Louisiana.

Got an inch in west central Akansas Thursday night. Weatherman had promised 3-5 inches. Didn't really need that much. Chance of rain for next few days. Maybe we will get another inch. Farmers who are wanting to plant wheat may be able to start now. Had a good summer but sure has been a dry fall. Be safe.

Yes! Started raining in N Texas Thursday, still raining, think we've had about 8 inches and still raining. Did the same thing back in May, went from severe drought to flooding, then nothing all summer. Now back to flooding!

Here in so central TX (San Marcos/New Braunfels) we got 1.40" on August 20. Other than that we've had 17 weeks without a drop of rain. When the spring rains and flooding ended in June they ENDED! Today got 4.25" so far and nary a drop ran off. All the huge cracks in the clay just soaked up each and every bit of the rain. Wonderful! kelly
Got about 1/2" last night, enough to make hauling manure really greasy and track mud on the road. Had to stop for a few hours so I could watch my kids while my wife went to a baby shower. Hopefully tomorrow I can get the last pile hauled. Dad rented a Knight/Kuhn PS150 spreader to pull behind the 1855 again. About 2x the size of our spreader, and makes the road trips a little more bearable.
