case 1838 skidloader hydraulic issue

Our 1838 skidloader has a issue, the speed and pressure when raising the lift arms is slow/weak. And the same for dumping the bucket. if you deadhead another function while raising the lift arms (like curl.bucket all the way back and hold the control there) the lift arms are faster and have a bit more pressure.....

The linkage all seems good/tight. No other recent adjustment or changes to machine....

Ideas?

I'd suspect linkage or leakage in spool. Using second function is taking oil from power beyond circuit making back pressure on the first circuit making more oil go to cylinder. Try pushing on spool directly after maxing out lever travel and see if it moves more. Don't have it running or drop the loader on you of course.

It's only like 1/8" difference when closing the bypass port in the spool, my loader has slop in the cables and has a similar problem.

Sorry wrote that a bit wrong, when you close the second valve it backs up oil in the normally free circulating loop so if the work port on the first valve is open but it hasn't blocked off the free circulating loop completely yet there is still pressure built from the second spool.

Easier to explain looking at a diagram.
