Anyone looking for bargains in used equipment especially the older stuff now and for the next couple months should be some bargains out there.Historically at auctions Nov and Dec prices have been the cheapest, I've gotten some absolutely fantastic bargains at sales this time of year.Couple that with pretty low grain prices, falling cattle prices and scrap going way down all adds up to some good buys I'd imagine.I'll be hitting every promising auction around. Hunting seasons and people spending for the Holidays also helps keep crowds and prices down at auction now thru Jan.1st.

Brother told me yesterday that our grand nephew (15) bought an early model Farmall H and a McCormack I4 to start his own collection. His Dad has a couple of JD 2-bangers, but he is disillusioned with JD so they may get sold. Grand nephew prefers 4 cylinder engines.

Good for him. I don't have to own one of those old two bangers to know there are many things about them I could not tolerate.

Prices are still pretty strong at farm auctions in oho. A lot of jocky's around and people who buy stuff to sell on craigslist. The last three farm auctions I've gone to the tractors ended up on craigslist. A 2010 JD sold Saturday for 2900,on craigslist for 4000. An 855 jd compact tractor brought 4500 last week. It's now on craigslist for 7500. A 301 JD with loader
sold at a school auction for 4600 is now on craigslist for 7500.Everyone has a phone with the internet and can look up prices.

Had 5 of the 2 cylinders ans I liked them, only thing was a bit hard to shift. The Farmall H was better at that and slightly easier steering and for some things that was good but they missed the ball with that 5 speed tranny instead of the 6 speed the 2 cylinders had. The Roll-a-matic shure made a better difference in working plowed ground. Also the A & B Deeres road easier than the H, not so with the AR. All had teier place. And would like to have all of them back again including the Ferguson TO 30 and Ford NAA.

I went to auction sat and the 3 pieces that I wanted went too high for me. Decent looking and running bare bones John Deere H brought $3,000, Rough and I mean rough but barly ran late John Deere A 's brought around $1,500, 2010 row crop that looked to be good all around brought $2,400, would not have minded having that tractor but not there for the tractors. Barly parts tractors bringing over $500. Highest price was a 4020 at $6,250, looked and ran decent but I would not drag one home for it. Think WD with wide front $1,500. Northwestern Ohio.
