Am I the only one? Just sold my massey ferguson 40b this morning. Feel like I just put the family dog down. Good tough old tractor. Just put a loader on the deere 4320, will handle loads of round bales much better. Shouldn't need it anymore, just sad to see it go.

Hi, sure know the feeling! I had a case 530 ck b/l with a 188 d. Sold after 30 yrs. Missed it for a long time. Ed will

I can't grasp the idea, you sold a tractor? Did you actually let someone take it away from you? Call the police, maybe they can track it down. How terrible.

I get attached to everything. Missed my old IH 430 baler I sold after I got a JD 347. I have a 440 to fix up and need to, I just miss the IH loop in the knot.

Just about everything else gets to stay here once it gets here. I run an old folks home for IH.

I've suffered from sellers remorse a few times, but never felt too bad about selling for the most part. I sold the last of my Case 400's this fall. It was originally bought new by a neighbor in 1955. I used to help him with field work when I was in my early teens, and drove that 400 a lot. After he passed away I bought the tractor from his widow. I used it here for the last eighteen years. I thought I would feel a pang when it went out the driveway on a trailer, but didn't feel anything.

We were just talking about that early this morning, I have every tractor I ever bought plus two of my Dads and I use them all and don't want to change, my oldest Son will buy a tractor and if someone makes him an offer on it that shows a profit he will sell in a minute and buy something else.

Wife says our farm is where machinery comes to die. What I buy never seems to leave.

Yep,when I traded off the 4040 Deere that I bought new I felt like I was loosing my mind for a few months. I was OK with it until the wife and kids got home. The wife started in about how we bought it right after we got married, the kids said they learned to drive on that tractor, really brought me down. I couldn't even read the ads for the dealer that I traded it off to for several months after that because I didn't want to see it advertised for sale.

I bought two Allis Chalmers Model M's from a guy several years ago. In a few months he came back and wanted one back. I let him have it. I didn't have it long enough to get attached to it. I don't really sell much, if anything. My Dad wasn't like that. If it didn't move in I few years, it ended up in the iron pile. Stan

I made a Huge mistake of selling this 1951 VA 25 years ago, I was Very lucky to get it back, all the same tires I had put on it and the Woods 6' blade I bought new when I bought the tractor as well, it will never again leave as long as I am still here, last pic was taken the day I sold it all those years ago

Back in 1980 I lost my job and thought I would be moving out of state. Sold my Dad's 2N to a co worker. Well 22 years later I didn't move and was able to buy it back at the estate auction of the guy I and sold it to for same price. But it now had new tires and in decent shape; sits at my son's farm where it will stay.

i lost my 7700 ford in a fire last year just couldnt stand it untill i found anouther even though i may have paid to much i can sleep beter now days

I bought an 8n Ford a few years back because I thought I'd really use it, turns out I don't use it much at all (which isn't fair to the tractor), that's the only one I wouldn't feel bad about sending down the road to a loving home!

You sold a 4040??? You DO need your head checked!! I looked for a good while for one and finally gave up. Anyone who has one won't sell it. They sure are nice nimble things and have that decent cab. A great little raking and square baling machine.

I think a lot of fellows feel the same way. If you've spent ten thousand hours on a machine and it seldom let you down, it becomes like an old friend. On the other hand, I bought an old Massey from the original owner--he had it for over 60 years and it was the last piece of farming equipment he had left. His son and nephews farmed on the same farm and had used it over the years and it was in excellent condition--just had no use for it. I did have to convince the owner that it was going to a good home and wouldn't be modified. I have a JD that my Dad bought new in 1973 and I bought from him in 1983, and it ain't leaving the farm before I do...
