case 310 dozer carb leaking fuel

Alright I have a question. I have had my carb apart about a dozen times an I still can seem to get it to stop leaking. I know the carb spec for the float is .250 of an inch. I have it set for .300 . So that being said I had taking carb off an turned on the key, looks like it is leaking from between that round brass piece that goes between the bowl an top of that carb. Now is that normal.or is it not supposeed to leak there. So I was wondering if I should adjust the float more?

Matt,Do you have a washer/gasket under the brass seat, and have the seat tightened down tight? So it is not leaking around the threads of the seat.

Does your needle valve have the wire retainer that holds it to the float, and/or if it didn't and you put one on take it off. Have seen them bind up before. chris

Are you talking about the external needle valve adjusting brass rod. If so there is a small rubber or Teflon washer that goes in the rod first before your spring to keep it from leaking. When you tighten it the spring goes down on the washer to seal it.

No ,
It is about 3/4 to 7/8 dia. Round. Maybe 3/4 tall .an is in the middle of the carb. Guess u could call it the throat.

You have too much fuel pressure. I had the same problem until I found an adjustable pressure regulator. You only need 1# of fuel press at the carb.

So the stock pump In the tank is to much. I'm suprised that there would not be a regulator . I'll go to the auto store an pick one up ..along with a filter. .
Thank you.
