We got peepers! Spring Peepers (frogs) for those not blessed to have a harbinger of Spring so reliable. First night I have heard them. Two really nice days in a row here.
peep here

The neighbor woman said she heard them here too. Now they just have to freeze three times.

I heard them tonight, as well. SWMBO will complain they keep her awake with the windows open. Last least they don't listen to her...

Yup the geese are here just east of Edmonton.

Years ago in Central Iowa, the only time you saw geese was during the spring and fall migrations. Then some of the geese decided they were not going to fly clear to Louisiana for the winter. IOWA is far enough south. Now I believe we have resident geese who don't even fly north or south. They live in and around all the storm water ponds in big business parks. They live at the golf courses, cemeteries. All the while crapping all over the beaches the sidewalks the roadways. While I am still in awe of them they have become pests and public health hazards. gobble

When I go out on my fields lately I see NO geese...just lots of turkeys! Really cuts down on the volunteer corn the next year but I hate to think of them in there before I harvested.

That's a wonderful sound that I really miss since my hearing went south. I always looked forward to he first night I could hear them when I stepped outside. Now I have to be real close even with the hearing aids.

Heard the first peepers Tuesday night here just south of Grand Rapids. My son saw turkeys strutting last night. AHHH Spring!!!
