Finally got burnt on Ebay

I've been buying off Ebay since somewhere around 1998-ish. I finally took a beating. They took my money but I never got my manual I won. "Oh, I must have put the wrong address down." "I'll re-send it Priority Mail and send you a tracking number." "Oh, I lost the tracking number." "It should be there." Blah, blah, blah. they ended up swearing at me in an email. Class act all the way.

It's not the money, it's only 15.00. It's being lied to and then called a liar. Some people, eh?

The only time I got burned on ebay is when I sent the seller a check instead of using paypal. Right now my problem is with walmart.com. I ordered something last year which was suppose to be sent to the store for pickup. They never shipped it. I haven't been able to cancel the order. They charged my bank account Feb 2 and I can't get them to refund my money.

They do have a complaint process and you can get your money back. Some of the other guys can tell you how.

I would have to wonder why you are here complaining and not contacting ebay? Only in extremely rare cases have I had an issue with an ebay seller. Ebay has procedures to follow when you have trouble with sellers on ebay.

I bought manuals from one of the big well known manual reproduction places through amazon. turned out they had the right cover but were reprints of a totally different engine. I got my money back but was out shipping both ways, but it was flat fraud.

Seems like once or so a year a package gets broke or lost. Or you get some issue with internet ordering like non shipment etc. Seems like these days most take care of it better than in the early days of internet!!

Yip and good ol eBay still gives lots of sellers high
scores read through some of the big sellers
feedback and you'll see how crooked some of them
are now sometimes some People will give negative
feedback over a stupid reason you've got to know
how to read through the garbage but when you see
four or five of the same type of feedback from one
seller you know your dealing with a crook and if you
wait more than 30 days ebay will just say o well
sorry the sellers know this so they lead you on and
on unlit the 30 days are up that's when you usually
get the high quality email like you got

If you didn't give seller a teview,
give him a negative and eBay might step
in. I never leave reviews for that
reason.

Oh Stephen, does your story sound so familiar. We will never order anything on Wally's website again. Never! It was the very same scenario as yours to the word. We finally contested it with our credit card and that is how we got our money back---three months later!

All you have to do is go through ebay and get your money back. I did that once years ago and no problem just a
little time. Paypal is the same way

contact ebay they should help get refund (or pay pal if used). my nephew sells lots on ebay,, he has had items returned that had been taken apart, parts removed, and returned to him, and buyer claimed they did not work (barcode scanners)ebay automatically takes money back from seller. he has sold as is parts only, buyer claims DOA he forced to refund money. not just crooked sellers, lots of crooked buyers too ebay hardly ever finds against buyer, seller wants to use ebay, ebay in control....

I use the paypay deal I don't have to pay for it till I receive it...
Good/bad i dunno I have always received it and had a chance to review it before payment was sent...

The very first thing I brought (2000) on ebay PJ 8N from NY slow played me till I could not contest the transaction... He has the part and my money... One other guy tried to pull the same chit he did not send the part he advertised I just kept the part and sucked it up...

I have only bought on E-bay for a short time, so far I have been real pleased. I do have pay-pal account. first mishap happened a couple of weeks ago. ordered an item, free shipping-got here so fast is was scary, but item was wrong.--not as appeared in picture'' & exchange"" was answers I put in choices. E-bay replied within hrs. & told me to keep the wrong part & credited my account! [wasn't large, $23.00 bucks, don't know what happened on this deal--maybe seller knew part didn't match number & application. sure would have tried again if knew I could get right part as shipping time & price was great.

I bought a couple saw parts off eBay. Took forever
to get here and it was a top cover for a stihl, not
a husqvarna flywheel.
Oh, I sent you the wrong part I'll get the right one
out, just keep that one.
A few days after the feedback cut-off I got an email
that he was refunding my money (and he did).

(quoted from post at 21:15:40 03/13/16) So why not file a complaint with eBay? You will get your money back. It's a very simple prosess

I have, just venting my frustration.

Ebay no longer is easy to deal with. They mostly side with the aeller but if you paid with paypal they side with you. Had a runin with ebay last year and Paypal reimbursed me within a few day. Fhey have many more protections for you rather than ebay.

That's why I use PayPal. Bought a $150 on ebay computer in Dec. Never received it and owner never replied. Took a few weeks, but I got my money back with no problems.

I have bought MANY items over MANY years and I assure you eBay is on the buyer's side.
If it wasn't for feedback, I would not buy on eBay.
With any item, I always check the sellers FB, not just recent but older completed sales.
I don't like the fact that eBay gives a seller a 100% rating, after a year, regardless of how many negatives that have!
That's the reason for checking.
After a certain time, eBay allows you to file dispute and you will receive a refund from them, especially if you use PayPal.
I am with you concerning the small amount of money involved. I don't care if its $2.00, I want satisfaction.
There are a lot of people that wouldn't go through the hassle for a small amount of money and sometimes the seller knows this.
It would be good to know the identity of the seller.

Hmm. I just joined and made my first purchase this past Friday or Saturday. Bought a Dana 60 front and a Spicer 70 rear to replace the Dana 44's on a short bed Dodge 1500 that I picked up. We'll see how it works out. I expect ok though.

You need to open a dispute with eBay. eBay does not put up with any funny business. I have a couple of friends that sell on eBay. A couple of negative feedbacks or a second dispute will get a seller suspended. I've seen it happen to one seller. Even if the disputes are settled in favor of the seller, they don't forget, and the do hold it against the seller.

I am working on one right now. I ordered the parts on the 19th of feb. and the estimated arrival date was Mar. 2nd. They finally got here last Friday. Where the parts took so much longer coming I was wondering if I had been burned so I asked on ebay if I could get a tracking number. Seller never replied. When the parts came and were wrong I emailed through ebay that they were wrong on Sat. morning. I got a response from seller Sat. afternoon that he had shipped the correct parts out on DHL express and I should see them on Tuesday? We'll see how this plays out tomorrow.
