Yep, had it several years ago. Not fun that's for sure, painful as h*ll. I don't remember having any blood.

Had three times that I remember. Just got done with a bout of it. Never any blood, that's sounds odd to me. Just had abdominal discomfort and the urge to go all the time. The finger test was excruciating-that's how dr detected it. A round of antibiotics and its usually gone.

yep. caused my PSA to go up and led to a prostate biopsy - much worse than the infection fuuuursure.

May also be bladder cancer which I have and have bleeding. That is how it was caught.

Not sure! Never any blood. I was barely 40 when a urologist "guessed" I had prostatitis. Or he was using it as a "catch all term". The first assumption he, and the doctors I had seen prior to him was that it was cancer. Negligible PSA. My conclusion was that he was clueless. My wife finally came upon some information at the library about "cystitis", or interstitial cystitis. My problem was diet. By trial and error we got it under control.

Had prostae cancer, been 8 years since surgery, PSA zilch ever since, they apparently got it all. Make sure you see a good Urologist. If I had followed the advice of my GP, I wouldn't be writing this.

Lenray, I have had it off and on for about 25 years. My symptoms are severe pain and trouble urinating/frequent urinating

I take two doxycyclines a day, every day. Keeps it in check mostly. What helps me the most is walking every day. If if I walk 2 or 3 miles everyday at a strong pace I don't have to take antibiotics.

At 42 I had a bout of abnormally frequent urination and a really tender bladder/groin area. My PCP guess diagnosed it as prostatitis and prescribed me some antibiotics. Within a few days I was cleared up and feeling much better.

I take a couple of cranberry capsules a day and drink lots of cranberry juice. Helps me.
