What carb set up do most people run on a Mass Harris 44 with a 277 motor I have m&w pistons custom air intake and manifold on the tractor with the factory carb any in sit would be appreciated

I would at least put a governor on it to limit over speeding. You can easily ruin your engine without a high limit on RPM.

So where did the gov go who would have taken it off engine cannot run very well without one as regulating carb on a tractor with direct linkage to the carb is hard to do. So how is your linkage hooked direct to throttle lever without going thru a gov.

Previous owner did it it works off the hand throttle between the legs reverse operation of a normal throttle just hooks right to the butterfly on the carb not hacked together. I am a diesel technician and I know how deviating an overview speed can be with motors.

I worry a lot more about the flywheel grenading and killing someone. I was at a pull where a 900 case flywheel let go. It completely cut the tractor in half and threw pieces for several hundred feet, including up and over a tall grandstand. If you are going to play that game I would be more worried about where to get a steel flywheel and ppa assembly as well as a scatter blanket. Carbs are easy to find, good lawyers to defend you in a personal injury and or death legal case not so much. Might I guess you are south of the Mason-Dixon line?

Make the governor work, you will destroy a lot of work, money and possibly lives if it self destructs at RPM.

I live in Pennsylvania but not to far from the mason dixion line I was pricing a scatter blanket and in the process of making side shields

Would something like this work for a "just in case something breaks" prevention?

I have ignitor ignition in the tractor and was looking at that opion too but wasn't sure I'd it would work
