Like I need yet another project
Ok so I couldn't pass it up for $300
It's a Cushman turf runabout truckster
Guy couldn't get it running and had it listed for 6 months so called him up and took a look
Its rough but after resetting and cleaning the points and new fuel lines it runs and drives good
Still have to fix the brakes
In researching them the options offered for them is a 3 point and a 540 back pto so it could be used as a light tractor
Theres also a whole line of implements you can add on too.
Has a 3 speed standard trans with a two speed rear axle
It will do about 20 mph at guess
The single front wheel will turn almost 90 degress so it can turn very sharply in a tight spot
22 hp 2 cyl gas they also offered them with 27 hp 3 cyl diesel
Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet but I have a cple ideas

cool find!!!! mount a sprayer on it, a generator, a welder, tool boxes, and the cutting torch!!! and a small cooler for beverages.

I bought a similar rig a year and half ago, it is a Jacobson, bought it from a golf course, had been sitting for some time. I towed it home charged the battery, put in fresh gas and away we go, wife didn't think much of it until she used it for yard work, much easier to get around with than garden tractor and trailer. Has onan engine and 5 speed transmission, about 15- 20 mph, Pete

Those Cushman's ran around manufacturing plants for years and years. That one looks a little newer than the ones that we had in the plant; I think ours were made in the 60's.

In the town, Flemington,NJ there used to be a guy who had a boat load of these. He bought them from all over and would build them up for people to buy. My dads buddy bought one to be really stingy with the gasoline. Mid 70s. He bought one of those to go over the road!! It had the fiber glass cab and had a high speed rear in it. Windshield wiper and lights too. Would just do 40 mph. I installed an Am/FM stereo in it for him. He ran it a couple of years till he got tired of people trying to run him off the road. By the way it was painted Omaha Orange!

Console shift came out in 80 or 81. When I started at the golf course we had Toro Turf Trucksters (slow) and E-Z Go with a with a 2 cylinder Onan in it. Boss started trading them off first one we got was a trike with the column shift it was the best one we had but the idiots at Cushman put the heads on wrong and intake valves don't last long on the exhaust side. The next year we got a console shift 3 wheeler like yours and a column shift 4 wheeler that got traded off pretty quick- no turning radius and it would scuff the turf if you tried to turn to tight. We had the PTO but didn't get any of the 3 point hitches but I think the 4 wheeler had a hoist, it was a demo and had a few more options than the 3 wheelers. Never liked shifting with my left hand so I didn't care much for the console shift Cushman. After a while the E-Z Go got left at the shop so it was my service barge, then things changed and I had the 4 wheel Cushman for a service vehicle.

it definitely needs tires and the rear spring mounts need repairs so my plan is to switch it up to 10x23x12" rear tires and give it a bit of a spring lift
the front is already a 9x21x8" so it should give it a better stance
the back tires now are not matched and are 8.5x19x8" now
as they came with 8 or 12" rims as well they should fit with no problem

I have one just like that. Mine has the V-twin Kohler engine with the hydraulic dump bed and the 540 p.t.o. It came from a golf course in another county. I was working at the local golf course and the super wanted to buy the top dresser that was being sold with it, but did not want to buy the Truckster. I told the super.to buy it all and I would buy the Cushman from them. I paid $500.00 for it running, but it had no brakes thus the bent in front bumper. The rear hubs clanked each time you started off. The hubs were both cracked thru the keyway. but the axle and the keyway was not damaged. I replaced the master cylinder, brake shoes and wheel cylinders before I go any brakes. It sure is handy to use for hauling small loads. It will hold 1&1/2 buckets of dirt from my small loader/ backhoe and I can go dump it where I want it and not have to shovel it off. My late wife thought it was the cat's meow for hauling stuff around the yard. Gene Davis

I'm thinking I might build a cab for it everything but the wife's electric cart is open and I run that club car in the pic all winter
it would be warmer and drier with the cab for sure
but that will be much later have other things to fix 1st like breaks and spring mounts and nicer seats

this one has the 2 cyl opposed OMC motor 22 hp and by the hr meter it's got over 8000 hrs on it
there's a number of questionable repairs done to it over the yrs
if I have the codes figured out correctly it was made in 91
some one built a battery holder in the box and the gas tank is an out board motor boat tank also sitting in the box
there's also a bunch of cut off wires that will need some sorting out
but next will be brakes and new plugs and wires then I'll address the other problems as time allows
