Gilson mower deck to a ford one?

Hey everyone I just acquired this 79' Gilson gear 11 garden tractor. It's a good runner but the deck(42") has had it. So I came across a Ford deck(42") in better shape. They both look the same is there any reason why this might not work together? Anything you guys can think of that may have changed with the pulleys??

I'm not sure about '79 but I'm pretty sure that a little later(late'80s early '90s),Ford and Lawn Boy riders were both
made by Gilson!!!

(quoted from post at 02:22:19 04/14/16) I see no reason why it won't work, get to it.

Thanks that's the plan this weekend to figure out my old deck and go back and buy this other deck off my buddy.

The deck I'm buying off my buddy he said he also has the tractor too. It's torn apart. If I can find out the year of it and model I think that will help me out also for fitment on my Gilson.

I have a 42-inch Wards rear discharge mower made by Gilson. It has been used very little. Hal

mid 80's I put a 48" John Deere deck under a Montgomery Wards / Gilson, it mowed great for 10-15 years. Tractor was to use the deck pictured below. I had to make a sissors lift for it, was told it looked like it could be factory. Still have the unit but motor is tight alone with deck bearing.
