A friend gave me a wheelbarrow. already spent money for a new tube. Not a problem I will have a good wheelbarrow. He also gave me a two cycle post hole digger. Hasn't been run in 30 years. I wonder what that will cost to get running? I did get a good Kennedy machinist tool box. I don't need any of the three items, but they were free. Not going to tell what my free Massy Ferguson cost to get running. What has some of your free items cost you? Stan

The wife won a new 2 cycle hedge trimmer in a drawing at the home show, she said now we need to get some hedges.....

About 5 months late on a picture of a money pit for me Larry. I could have sent pictures of our Pool and the Boat before i moved. LOL

The free tractor cab I got for the 706 cost me over $900.00. It needed all the glass and window gasket. New upholstery, lights and paint.

Years ago, a distant neighbor have me a free 1500bu grain bin. Wanted it out of their way.

Took it home, set it on my feeding platform, pretty much got it installed for the cost of the three anchor bolts.

Put beans in it that fall.

Bean prices dropped $1.10 a bu that year I to next spring and summer.

Cost me over $1500.........

Do wife's and kids count as money pits, I love mine dearly but if they did cost so much I could fix some broke tractors. LOL.

No kidding! Around Christmastime I got a "free" dog that has already cost me over $2,000. She's
worth it, though.

A lot depends on how things are 'given' to you. Some people think if they give you something then they always have some control over what was given and you always 'owe' them
something in return and that goes 3X if its a relative.I've turned down some things just for that reason,I'd much rather buy then its paid for right then and there.

Friend was given a free pedigreed white lab puppy. Dog would eat anything that smelled of food. Dog's intestine got plugged with a small piece of AL foil that had been used for cooking. Vet bill was $4,000. I tell people that I can't afford a free dog!
