We started planting some potatoes this week, using the Ferguson TO35 and hold-on potato plow, works excellent.

My uncle bought a new Ferguson 35 in 54(gray)and was showing dad and us boys the creeper gear. Now I know what you would use it for.

This is the only picture I have handy right now,but can take more pics next week if you want. We use this same plow for digging the potatoes, just take the closers off.

Thanks Larry. We have such a variety of soils on our acreage, this garden spot was created a few years ago because the traditional garden plots were flooded out. According to the experts our land was always considered to be poor farming land. Even when we were drilling for a new well a few years ago we drilled a few test holes and the well we made was tested as good drinking water, about a hundred feet another test hole was drilled and they tested the water, and they said it was fit for neither man or beast.

The plow is built by a small company in Aberdeen Saskatchewan, they are called Hold On Industries. We have always planted a lot of potatoes and this plow (planter) sure makes it easy. Up until about 25 years ago we would always plant using a 2 bottom plow and then walk along the furrow sticking in potatoes then closing the furrow with the plow, this works well too, but is a little harder on the back.
