Glass fuel bowl tank very old (possibly 30's)

Tank could have come off of many things... a power unit on a combine or baler, as a couple of examples, judging from the size of the sediment bowl, maybe even a piece of outdoor power equipment/turf equipment.

The sediment bowl design is no wheres near "old/ancient", and identical units can still be purchased today for $10 and up..

Don't know what the tank is for but the sediment bowl (glass portion) was used on many things up through the 60's. One like you are showing was used in small engine applications.
