Got the forms built for the retaining wall where the storage tanks set and another form made and set in place for a pad to support a 1550gal nurse tank for the new evaporator in the ceiling of the building. I will be building the support frame from salvaged I beam we had up to the farm in the next few days.
Oh Boy another project, and I'm still not done with the Case 931. The uncles and cousins think I should drop all my projects, because they are between first and second cut hay at the moment.
We have the crete truck scheduled for Wed morning.

Loren, are you pouring concrete on top of the pad that already there. The pad in the picture where the broom and shovel are sitting.

Looks Good! Tell the uncle's you need to get the 931 done because you need that to haul supplies to the sap house...HE HE

Are you upgrading to fda compliance? I been trying to plan out my improvements over the next couple years to get to that point since it's coming that they will start to enforce it before long. Basically the guy from the fda told me at this point they are so overwhelmed and understaffed to take it on very seriously but I'm sure that will change

I had a form like that blow out once. I would build it stronger or pour the concrete very stiff. You may be fine and I may just be gun shy. Can't say you don't keep busy.

I like using OSB for forms better than plywood because it is porous and lets the concrete push the air thru it so you don't have voids from the bubbles.

We had a bad experience on a retaining wall with plywood forms leaving air bubble marks after we pulled the forms off. We had even rented a vibrator and used on it ? Next project for a footer I had scraps of OSB so I used it and could not believe how nice it worked. You could see air and water seeping right out through it.

You've probably seen this trick, but if you hold/ run an empty sawzall against the outside form it does a nice job of eliminating air voids.

Lol, I don't like it either but I don't think we can get away from it forever so as I expand have been keeping these things in mind!

Built my first power screed by clamping a sawsall to a pipe handle and bolting a 2x4 to the handle. My comercial version with the weedeater motor works much better with the aid of a rotary laiser to keep things perfect.
