Start laughing when ever you are ready

90 F here today , and full sun. And I picked today to wear some cut off work pants to were while cutting hay. My Lilly white skin isn't used to this much sun, and I was starting to burn. Grabbed some duck tape , and a two burdock leaves , and made a sun block. Looks goofy , but hey , it's working.

Looks good to me. Don't blame you at all. 98 here right now, headed to 100. Maybe you need to change every five acres.

That is way better than a sunburn. If you keep them damp they will probably be pretty cool on the legs. The temp here is only 91 but with the humidity the real feel is 109 and still climbing.

Farmer-engineering at its best! Just don't try to explain those dried up leaves to a policeman.....Ben

I got the hot foot while mowing yesterday, so I pulled a pair of white socks over my shoes. It worked, but I could only get my shoe a little way in the sock so the foot part was dangling. Hoped the neighbors didn't see.

Bruce I spent a lot of hours pounding a swather across both our hay and cereal fields and I don't miss it that much. And then you get to snuggle up between those cows later tonight!
I like your innovation, sunburn is not fun.

Looks good to me! I forget my sunscreen from time to time when I'm scraping roads at work. The 7-10 mph with the window down will get you a burn on your left arm in a hurry, so I'll take my reflective vest off and drape it over my left arm on the window ledge of the door. That works good enough in a pinch.

For a second there,I thought you found tobacco leaves,but I can tell they're not!Good thinking,better than sunburn.Mark

Wednesday I put on an older pair of jeans and my toe went thru the front of the leg above the knee. I didn't feel like getting another pair so I wore them. When I went to mowing I pulled an old tee shirt (soon to be grease rag) bottom end up over the hole and tucked the tail into my belt. The only issue was that it caught on the seat most times when I got off.
40 years ago I was mowing hay and had a hole in the same location. After I started feeling the burn, I put my handkerchief inside the hole, and that solved that problem.

reminds me of the days of my girlfriend who I ended up marrying ,, she used to play adam and eve with me./

All you need now is a tomato, a piece of onion, and some salad dressing and you'll have lunch!
